First Two Subsea Trees for Liza Phase 2 Arrived in Trinidad

January 2020

The Liza Phase 2 Subsea team achieved a number of key milestones during the fourth quarter. One milestone was the delivery of the first two subsea trees and three tubing heads to the Trinidad shorebase. The equipment is being site receipt tested and will be stored at the shorebase until needed by Drilling in 2020. The TechnipFMC facility in Brazil continues to manufacture the remaining subsea trees and tubing heads for Liza Phase 2.

During 4Q19, TechnipFMC delivered the two umbilical I-tube extension spools to SBM in Singapore for future integration into the FPSO. The pressure and flooding caps were another milestone completed by TechnipFMC and delivered to Saipem this quarter. The flowline jumper connectors are nearing completion and delivery to Saipem’s yard in Italy is expected in early 1Q20. In 4Q19, TechnipFMC received all long-lead components for the Liza Phase 2 umbilicals, and is on track to commence manufacturing of the umbilicals in 2Q20 at their facility in Newcastle, England.

Fabrication of the Water Alternating Gas (WAG) manifold structures continued to progress at DELP, TFMC’s fabrication contractor located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The team completed the assembly and testing of the first three compact blocks during the fourth quarter.

Topsides controls equipment is progressing per plan. At UCOS in California, the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of the subsea software was completed. The controls cabinets were then shipped to Houston for extended FAT at TechnipFMC’s Houston facility. The cabinets will be shipped to SBM in Singapore in 1Q20 for integration into the Unity FPSO control room. The assembly and FAT of the HPUs were also performed during the fourth quarter at W-Industries.
