2019 will be a significant year for the Guyana projects, and we’ve already reached several notable milestones in the first quarter of 2019.

In February, we announced two new discoveries offshore Guyana at the Tilapia-1 and Haimara-1 wells. Additionally, as of this month we have another new discovery at the Yellowtail-1 well. This brings the total number of discoveries on the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana to 13. The Noble Tom Madden drillship began drilling the Tilapia-1 well on January 7, and the Stena Carron drillship began drilling the Haimara-1 well on January 3.

Since the beginning of the year, the Noble Bob Douglas has begun the first development well completion and deployed the first subsea tree for Liza Phase 1.

The final topsides lift was completed at the fabrication site for the Liza Destiny FPSO. We have included a video showcasing the final module lift later in the newsletter, so you can get a sense of the scale of this work and celebrate this important milestone with our Singapore colleagues.

The shorebases in Trinidad and Guyana have been busy receiving deliveries and offloading of subsea structures, subsea trees and linepipe as we ramp up the offshore installation campaign.

Saipem’s main pipelay vessel, the FDS2, arrived in Guyana to begin offshore construction activities. Also, read more about the “One Team, One Home, One Destiny” vision that defines the desired values, culture and behaviors of the SBM and ExxonMobil operating team.

The Liza Phase 2 team has made considerable progress in the first quarter with planning and execution activities, and a continued focus on building upon the lessons learned from Liza Phase 1.

FPSO engineering and procurement activities are continuing with SBM, and the hull is starting to take shape in China. For Saipem, the first shipment of linepipe has now been received at Shawcor’s Veracruz plant to start coating activities. TechnipFMC (TFMC) has begun fabrication of production manifolds based on Phase 1 designs and has commenced assembly on the first two subsea control modules.

We are also finalizing the detailed design for the smart wells with TFMC, which will aim to increase production and enhance recovery. Liza Phase 2 will be the first greenfield deployment of smart wells for ExxonMobil and demonstrates our commitment to leveraging digital technology to improve operations.

Thank you for your continued focus on our Nobody Gets Hurt vision and your commitment to working as One Team. Our combined efforts and shared vision are what will drive a successful outcome for the current and future Guyana projects.
