July 2018
Gina Dickerson
Liza Phase 1 Senior Project Manager
The Liza Phase 1 project continues to make astonishing physical progress toward being onstream less than five years from discovery. Managing the numerous interfaces between all parties is critical as the project moves closer to the offshore installation phase in early 2019. The team is focused on meeting their interface commitments to one another whether it be the delivery of loose components from TechnipFMC to Saipem for integration into the subsea structures or the delivery of hang-off assemblies and installation aids required to be installed in the upcoming second dry dock in Singapore during 3Q18.
Each EPC continues to make progress on meeting their schedule commitments and the strong Liza Phase 1 team remains focused on raising and resolving issues together to achieve project success.
In May 2018, the Liza Phase 1 EPC Project Leadership Team (PLT) met in Singapore to discuss progress on the strategic milestones, discuss key interfaces, and reviewed the initial installation plans. While together, the team discussed several key safety challenges and successes. In Singapore, the PLT took the opportunity to visit the Keppel Shipyard, Dyna-Mac topsides module fabrication yard and TechnipFMC Singapore facility where tubing hangers are being manufactured. You will see lots of progress in this newsletter, but it will take all of us pulling together in our One Team approach to deliver the Foundation for the Future in Guyana!
We look forward to more one team success stories in 3rd quarter of 2018! Planning for the second dry dock is underway and involves numerous interactions between all EPC Contractors to remain coordinated. During this upcoming second dry dock, below-water-line equipment umbilical bend stiffener connector provided by TechnipFMC will be installed, the riser Flexjoint® hang off assemblies and installation aids provided by Saipem. There are significant milestones ahead as the project looks to finalize and ship the first tree systems, continue riser and flowline pipe coating and subsea structure fabrication, and enter the second dry dock with the FPSO to install the riser hang-off and umbilical assemblies, installation aids and finish hull coating and painting.
