Progress above ground and below the waves for subsea and umbilical equipment

The shorebase in Trinidad has been busy receiving and testing subsea equipment over the last four months.

TechnipFMC (TFMC) has delivered the first four subsea trees and six tubing head spools from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They have also delivered hundreds of tools and smaller equipment items to support the upcoming drilling completion campaign, which starts in January.

Drilling has installed the first four tubing head spools at the Liza field, a major milestone for the project. The installation also marks a major achievement for Guyana’s budding oil and gas industry, as this is the first permanently installed subsea equipment in Guyana.

The three injection manifolds have completed fabrication and testing at the TFMC Rio de Janeiro facility. They are currently in transit to Houston for integration with the mudmats and final pre-installation checks.

The two production manifolds and suction piles are progressing well at Spitzer Industries in Houston, and they are on track for completion by March. All manifolds and piles are scheduled for loadout to the Saipem barge in Houston in early April, where they will sail directly to the Liza field for installation in May.

Umbilicals manufacturing continues to progress well at the TFMC Channelview facility in Houston. All umbilicals are on track for completion in 2Q 2019, at which point they will be loaded to the Saipem installation vessels and sail directly to the Liza field. Get an inside look at the umbilical manufacturing process and the critical role they will play at the Liza field in this video.

The infield umbilicals have completed layup and outer sheathing and are awaiting final termination and testing. The main dynamic and static umbilicals are in the final stages of layup and will be terminated and tested following the infield umbilicals.
