SBM Offshore is firmly committed to protecting life – a shared goal with our client ExxonMobil. Our LIFE365 HSSE program is how we target zero incidents. LIFE DAY is a corner stone of this program – the annual event is our global celebration of LIFE and focuses on increasing awareness of Health and Safety.
In May LIFE DAY celebrated its fifth anniversary across SBM Offshore’s worldwide locations. This year we welcomed the participation of the Liza project teams working at the two yards in Singapore, who shared the foundations of a safe and successful project. It was a perfect opportunity for management to engage with workers on the ground and the success of the day demonstrated everyone’s commitment to safety 365 days a year on Liza.
Jan Engelberts SBM Offshore Liza Project Director: “This day is vitally important to continually improve the safety culture at the yards. Ultimately our goal is to create a safe working environment. We want people to go home safe at the end of the day.”
SBM Offshore Life Day involves a ‘stand-down’ in more than 40 locations around the world, offshore, on site and in the office, dedicating 24 hours to health and safety issues.
SBM Offshore’s management engages with employees and contractors with a collective “tools down” period for presentations and workshops. It is a unique opportunity to meet, discuss, and share one’s experiences so that all can discover and learn.
