Teams working on the Liza Destiny put in tremendous effort this quarter to ready the FPSO for departure to deep water anchorage. Everyone pulled together to complete all the planned Singapore quayside construction, hydrotesting, reinstatement and cable pulling work. Crews focused on completing module integration and commissioning activities. The gas turbine generators (GTGs), main and injection gas compressors, and water injection pumps were almost completely commissioned; the remaining work on this major machinery equipment planned to take place at deep water anchorage or offshore Guyana. The riser pull-in system (RPS) was also lifted, installed and commissioned.
Take a look back at all the progress that’s been made on the Liza Destiny FPSO, from November 2017 through the final module lift, in this video.

With the living quarters on the FPSO also commissioned in June, crew members were able to begin moving in. Some of these crew members will be onboard for the vessel’s transit to Guyana, but others will be staying on to operate the FPSO once it reaches the field. The crew members were excited to get settled in to their new homes for the next several months or years. The vessel has completed its sea trials at deep water anchorage and has begun its long journey to Guyana.
Showing its organizational commitment to safety, SBM conducted a company-wide “Life Day” on June 12.
The focus of this event included changes to SBM’s Life-Saving Rules to align with a recent update that the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) made to their nine Life-Saving Rules.
