Another milestone on the Liza Phase 1 Project was reached in January when the first-steel cut was made in the construction of topsides for the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) project.
The steel cut took place at the Dyna-Mac yard in Singapore in parallel with on-going tanker conversion activities in the Keppel shipyard. Both landmark events mean the construction phase is going as planned.
SBM Offshore and ExxonMobil senior management from all over the world also took the opportunity to take part in a safety engagement event with the teams at the Dyna-Mac fabrication yard and Keppel shipyard.
The two-day event reinforced the already strong team focus on doing the job well and showed the teams’ high levels of energy and passion for doing even better.
To encourage continuous and further improvement, safety awards were given to those who have reached the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
Getting safety and quality right the first time is vital in a complex operation like the Liza FPSO development. The event underlined how seriously all the teams take safety, security, health and environment (SSHE) standards.
