The final shipment of coated linepipe was delivered to Guyana in February for staging prior to offshore installation. The Liza Phase 1 project will use about 70 km of linepipe in total, and each individual pipe weighs around 3.5 tons. Watch the linepipe being offloaded at the John Fernandes Ltd. shorebase and hear about the focus on safety at the facility in this video.
The first quarter of 2019 saw the completion of the subsea structures, including the flowline end terminations (FLETs), pipeline end terminations (PLETs) and inline tee assemblies (ITAs). They have been delivered to the Trinidad shorebase for staging. See this massive equipment and its loadout for delivery to Trinidad in this video.
Also in February, the Skandi Neptune completed a final survey of the seabed to make sure there were no obstructions where equipment will be located, as well as the installation of the long baseline (LBL) acoustic positioning system to help ensure that the subsea equipment is placed accurately.
Strakes manufacturing has been completed and they are in transit to Guyana. Fabrication of the buoyancy modules is about 80 percent complete. The first shipment of modules has already arrived in Guyana, with the second shipment in transit. The buoyancy modules will damp the motion from the FPSO and reduce fatigue life of the riser.
