Due to its ability to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently for deepwater field developments, the Saipem Constellation, a deepwater pipe-laying vessel, has been selected to conduct the final riser retrieval and hook-up operations during the concluding hook-up campaign with the FPSO.
This work will occur in October 2019 after the FPSO arrives and is safely moored. The Saipem FDS2 pipe lay vessel will maintain responsibility for installation of the flowlines and subsea structures prior to the arrival of the FPSO.

Teams at Saipem’s technology development and testing facility in Ploesti, Romania are also hard at work on structural welding with responsibility for development and qualification of all weld procedures. In addition, they’re undertaking qualification of Field Joint Coating (FJC) procedures, which will provide protection of the joint once the welding is complete.
Meanwhile, fabrication of the pipeline structures are progressing at the New Industries plant in Louisiana. Fabrication of the first of nine Flowline End Termination Structures (FLET) is nearing completion. These structures facilitate connection of the flowline to the various manifolds and wells throughout the field.
Pipe coating continues at Shawcor’s facility in Houston, Texas. Coating of the water injection flowline pipeline is complete at its other plant in Veracruz, Mexico. The coated pipes will be shipped to a staging location near the offshore installation later this year.
